LHI Productions Calgary films and where each one has played so far

One framed photo and one sign about standing out. That still from Legacy of a Butterfly is a good excuse to map where all three LHI Productions films have travelled this year.

The company, based in Calgary and led by Monique Barrie, currently lists three films on its current slate. Here is the festival trail for each one.

Legacy of a Butterfly

This documentary short about Dr. Diana Monea is the biggest winner so far. LHI Productions says it won the Audience Choice Alberta Short award and the Devon Bolton Memorial Alberta Short Film Award at the Calgary International Film Festival, and our post on the two CIFF awards has the details. The CIFF film page lists it in Alberta Spirit Night 1 and in the Best Of shorts package. It is also an official selection of the Regina International Film Festival.

Not In My City

The 24-minute Paul Brandt documentary was nominated for a Golden Sheaf at the Yorkton Film Festival, where it screened on May 22 (the full story is in our Yorkton post). Its US premiere was September 24 at the Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival in Atlanta, and it is also in the Edmonton International Film Festival lineup, which we cover in our EIFF post.

Never Seen

The seven-minute horror short had its first screening at the Calgary Underground Film Festival and also lists the Regina International Film Festival. Between the three films, LHI collected 11 Rosie Award nominations: five for Not In My City, four for Legacy of a Butterfly and two for Never Seen.
