A dark room, an old keyboard and one monitor glowing like it knows something. That still sits on the LHI Productions page for Never Seen, a seven-minute horror short from Calgary, and it sets the mood better than a trailer could.
The setup is simple. Two friends enter an abandoned house looking for vintage tech and find something inside that has been waiting for them. LHI Productions made it in 2026 in association with Numera Films, and it runs in English.
Who made it
The cast is Marissa Barrie, Lily Wilcocks, Alea Herbert and Darian Holiday. The crew credits on the project page list Morgan Ermter, Monique Barrie, Griffin Cork and Josef Wright.
Look closer and you spot a pattern. Cork and Wright are also credited on Not In My City: The Paul Brandt Story, and Ermter edited Legacy of a Butterfly. It is a small Calgary crew that moves from project to project.
Where it has played
Never Seen had its first screening at the Calgary Underground Film Festival, and we covered that night in our post on its Calgary premiere. The project page also lists the Regina International Film Festival and two Rosie nominations, which sit inside the 11 Rosie Award nominations the three LHI films collected.
It is heading north too, to Edmonton for NorthwestFEARFest. If you like your short films with a chill, our guide to the Calgary Underground Halloween horror season is a good place to plan the rest of October.
Keep an eye on the Calgary Underground Film Festival site for the next screening, and leave the lights on.
