From a hillside near Calgary to a campus in Atlanta, Georgia. That’s the trip Not In My City: The Paul Brandt Story is making this month.
The documentary has been selected for the 8th Annual Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival, and its US premiere is September 24, 2026, at Morehouse College. LHI Productions says the school has a long history of justice, humanitarianism and human rights advocacy, which makes it a fitting place for the film to land.
A short film with a long reach
Monique Barrie directed the 24-minute film, and the project page lists Paul and Liz Brandt as the people who tell the story. It started its festival run in Saskatchewan, where our post on its Golden Sheaf nomination picks up the story, and it has been collecting attention ever since.
We love seeing an Alberta crew take a local story that far from home. If you know someone in Atlanta, pass the date along, and keep an eye on the LHI Productions Instagram for what’s next.
