Mark two dates for CUFF.Docs Calgary this fall. Passes go on sale October 21, and the full program and single tickets land a week later on October 28. The festival itself runs November 18 to 22, 2026, and it is the 14th edition.
Everything plays at the Globe Cinema, 617 8 Avenue SW, a downtown room that film fans already know from Cinematheque Calgary screenings and the CUFF Halloween horror marathon.
What you will see
The festival lists more than 15 full-length features plus shorts, and the subjects, styles and genres go in every direction. It plans to bring guests along with the films, so some screenings come with someone who can answer the question that pops into your head during the credits.
The booking rule is simple. Quality decides, and the team says it does not pick titles to push a message. It likes a lineup that can back up your opinions in one slot and poke at them in the next.
The offshoot that kept growing
CUFF.Docs started 13 years ago as a side festival of the Calgary Underground Film Festival. The number that jumps out is the 2025 edition, which was the biggest yet, with audiences up more than 20 percent on 2024. Over two years, attendance has climbed 85 percent.
The parent festival was founded in 2003 and returns for its 24th run April 15 to 25, 2027. We sorted out how CUFF and CIFF divide the Calgary film year in a separate post. If you are travelling in, the festival’s Plan Your Trip page lists flight and hotel discount codes.
Put October 28 in your calendar next to October 21. That is the day you find out which of those features gets your evening.
